AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICULES

AGV systems for an industry

Effective automation is based on a smart combination of three elements: manufacturing, storage, and distribution. Integrating standard technologies with state-of-art robotics solutions allows for the mechanization of the most important tasks, streamlines warehouse operations, generates significant savings, and ensures fast return on investment.

The AGV system consists of one or more battery-powered vehicles controlled with a computer, which moves automatically. Efficient and reliable—it can work for 24 hours, 7 days a week, without any breaks, failures, or accidents.

Our systems are equipped with a reliable navigation guaranteeing operation and building safety. The extensive offer allows you to implement diverse methods of navigation, load handling, and power concepts. Together, we will find solutions to optimize your warehouse operations.

Types of AGV vehicles:

Tuggers

It is the first solution which is still used very frequently. A total payload of a towing truck with several wheel trucks can reach 3.5 tons. They can be equipped with different, also automatic types of laches.

Single-loading trucks

They are equipped with convenient platforms and adapted to the transport of differently sized and shaped goods. An integral part of loading platforms can include powered rollers allowing for automatic loading and unloading, as well as hoists ensuring connection with the remaining devices. Single-loading trucks can be extended with special accessories, e.g. containers with multiple partitions, which facilitate segregation and transport of parts.

Forklifts

The most popular type of vehicles of versatile application. They allow for handling diversified loads (pallets, rollers, cardboard, stands, etc.) both at the 0 level and when lifted. They are perfect for storing loads on racks.

Navigation - safety and precision

Precise navigation which is tailored to one’s needs is the basis for automated transport vehicles. Our different types of navigations allow for the best possible execution of automation for your application.

Contour navigation

Safety scanners installed in AGV are also used for navigation. Transferred signals allow to constantly evaluate environment characteristics and determine the vehicle location and orientation.

Laser-reflection navigation

Laser rotary scanners on the AGV vehicles detect the vehicles position with triangulation using three or more reflection points. Additional reflectors increase the precision of positioning.

QR-code navigation

QR codes are installed on the floor according to a repeating pattern. The AGV vehicles detect the position by scanning the position of the code with an integrated camera.

Optical navigation

The AGV vehicles are controlled with a high-contrast strap or a colourful track applied on the floor, which forms a fixed route—a pretty robust, fast one which can be integrated without generating costs.

Inductive navigation

A wire installed in the floor ensures a radio signal for following AGV; this is a precise and reliable method. It can also save charging time in case of using an inductive loop for charging vehicles.

While selecting a navigation method, we focus on selecting an optimum, reliable system. All navigation methods are applied with the use of odometry (a method of precise position determination in robotics). For this purpose, data from drive units is evaluated based on the precise signals of the encoder and allows for improved, more precise navigation.
